Brock DeCicco to Badger football 2013

Remember when you could trade players in college football.. us neither. However, when Paul Chryst made the move to become the head coach at Pitt there was a situation that unfolded that was about as close as one will ever get to having that happen. Wisconsin running back Zach Brown left for the Pitt Panthers, shortly after that Pitt tight end Brock DeCicco left and came to Wisconsin.

O.k., so a "trade" is a bit of a stretch, but the fact that both teams ended up with a player from the other roster in the same offseason, that my friends doesn't happen very often. However, with the depth at tight end at the UW DeCicco has been a name more about intrigue than actual production. That all could change this year though as he is a redshirt senior.

Story So Far:

– Transferred in and sat out the 2011 season, played in all 14 games for Wisconsin last year, but failed to record any receiving stats.
– Played a key role on the scout team during his transfer season, winning scout team player of the week honors during the Minnesota game
– His brother Dom DeCicco was a two time all-Big East safety at Pitt

History of No. 81 at Wisconsin:

Ricky Wagner (2008): Ya, I know… Wagner was No. 58, what the hell are you talking about. Ahhh, see it pays to know your history of this team. Most don't remember that Wagner came to Wisconsin as a tight end out of high school and as such he took No. 82 his freshman season, although he clearly redshirted that year. Just an interesting tidbit to know about a number that hasn't seen a lot of greatness at the UW.
