Bruins Extend Seguin; 6 More Years Of Dating Contests

Seguin
Man, the Bruins are doing some work. Four days ago, the club re-signed Brad Marchand to a pretty good deal, 4 years at $18M ($4.5M a year). Well, they aren’t done yet. The Bruins have announced that Tyler Seguin has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Boston for six more season after this one. The best thing about the contract? It’s only $5.75M annually. I’m sorry, but for a young kid who can be a potential 40-45 goal scorer, that’s a steal. If Seguin ever broke out to the open market, teams would be crawling over one another grab him. The Bruins made a smart move here by keeping the kid in the black and gold.

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, September 11, that the club has signed forward Tyler Seguin to a six-year contract extension through the 2018-19 season. Seguin’s contract is worth an average of $5.75 million annually over the six years of his deal.

Chiarelli and Seguin will host a conference call today, September 11, at 3:00 p.m. ET regarding the signing. Call-in details can be found below. The Bruins Communications Staff will post audio of the call, along with a transcript, on the team’s media website shortly after it concludes (www.bostonbruins.com/media).

We can only imagine the dating contests he will participate in the next six years….
