Bruins sign one of Boston’s most stylish folks to four year contract

Brad Marchand four year contract with Bruins
Yesterday the Boston Bruins signed Malcolm Subban to an entry-level contract. Today, Chiarelli keeps the money flowing by signing Brad Marchand to a four-year deal worth $4.5 million annually.

That’s a lot of money when no one has a clue what the cap will look like under the new CBA. But he’s an agitator who gets under teams skins just by waking up every morning. And the kid can score. From BostonBruins.com:

In Marchand’s first full season with Boston in 2010-11, he played in 77 games, notching 21-20=41 totals and 51 penalty minutes. He finished the season tied for third in the league with five shorthanded goals and recorded the second highest plus/minus rating among NHL rookies with plus-25. At the end of the regular season, Marchand received Boston’s “7th Player Award,” an annual award presented to the Bruin who went above and beyond the call of duty and exceed the expectations of Bruins fans during the regular season, as voted by the fans.
