The Milwaukee Bucks announced its official 2014 NBA Summer League roster on Thursday, and it will be a Badger backcourt reunion. Recently graduated shooting guard Ben Brust and his former backcourt mate Jordan Taylor were both invited to be part of the team heading to Las Vegas.
Milwaukee’s opening game will be July 11th and they will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. It will be a matchup between the No. 1 pick (Andrew Wiggins) and No. 2 pick (Jabarri Parker). From there, the Bucks play two more opening round games and then will be seeded for a single-elimination tournament. Each team will be guaranteed at least five games during the Summer League tournament.
Brust ended his Badger career by averaging 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in UW’s Final Four Run.
Taylor, who graduated following the 2011-12 season and went undrafted in the NBA. He has played the last two years for Virtus Roma in the Italian league, parting ways with the team in February after a hip injury that required surgery.
He averaged 11.1 points, 3.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds this past season for Virtus Roma and previously was the starting point guard for the team as it made the Serie A finals in 2013.
This isn’t the first invite by the Bucks for Taylor though, as he’s been a member of the Bucks Summer League squad following his senior season at Wisconsin.
