It was his first game in the NFL, and he was a good lineman in college and took over the right Guard Position for the Bucs on the very first play. He had rave reviews in his very first game as a Buc, starting at right guard. Im talking about current Bucs Radio Station WDAE 620 afternoon co host Ian Beckles, but you could have thought I meant Ali Marpet who also passed the eye test according to another Bucs radio guy Anthony Becht, Bucs former Tight End who played against the Bucs when he was with the NY Jets and played FOR the Bucs, so he knows O linemen.
Marpet held his own and all indications are he will be a solid addition to the right side of the line. Doug Martin ran at a 4.7 yard clip until the game got out of control.
As for the line in general, Doug Martin on the Bucs scoring drive when down 21-0 did run mostly on the left side of the line where Donovan Smith is and Logan Mankins are. So while the Bucs gave up 4 sacks, w hen your down 21-0 the defense is going to pin their ears back, so sacks are going to come.
