It was really nothing new..the Bucs bored everyone opening day, then came alive at the end of the first half, and a little more in the 4th quarter. Am I talking about last week’s loss to Detroit? Maybe.
I could also be talking about the win last year over Cleveland. Think about it; Ronde Barber picks off a Jake Delhomme pass and runs it back to the red zone. The Bucs capitalize and score the Touchdown. The Browns were up 14-3, and were driving for a TD of their own. Had the Browns scored, it would have been 24-3 Cleveland over Tampa Bay, and its unlikely the Bucs win their opener. People would instead have talked about how the Bucs lost big time to Cleveland and how they are not ready. Why didnt the Bucs buy any free agents. You know the deal.
Well here we are a year later, and we could be in the same boat. But unlike last year, the Bucs did not make their move and fell to Detroit. Remember, last year after that Cleveland game, the Bucs still would have gone to Carolina and beat up on the hopeless Panthers. This year it just as well be Minnesota who was not all that impressive against San Diego.
We should hope so, because an 0-2 start to the season, and a home game vs Atlanta looming, is not the best way to start 2011.
