Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an offense for our Fantasy

fantasy footballIt only took them 35 years; finally the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an offense. And how do I know this? Check the fantasy football rankings! They tell the story.

For another, the Bucs have a home Monday Night Football game, and they came in 3rd place in their division! But mostly, its the Fantasy rankings, where every Bucs position has a player in a high ranking position, most of them only in the league for a couple years.

QUARTERBACK- Josh Freeman is listed in Pro Football Weekly as the 12th best QB-Freeman’s eye-catching im- provement in his second season could cause some owners to consider him as a starter, especially in bigger leagues. However, Free- man didn’t have a 300-yard passing game a season ago, and the five-TD performance was his only game with three touchdowns or more. That said, Freeman is a player to watch. Note that he rushed for 364 yards in 2010 compared to 161 as a rookie.

RUNNING BACK- The lowest ranking, LeGarrette Blount is 16th: Character problems kept Blount from being drafted, and the Titans cut him before the season. But he blossomed in Tampa Bay, coming on strong late in the season. He deferred some goal-line carries to Cadillac Williams, but Blount’s size and speed combo make him a great option as a No. 2 fantasy back.

WIDE RECEIVER- Mike Williams comes in #12 for the Bucs: After falling to the fourth round of the draft because of some charac- ter concerns, Williams quickly emerged as the Bucs’ top receiver last season. He has the potential to improve on last year’s numbers and is a solid No. 2 WR in most formats.

TIGHT END- Highest ranked of them all, Kellen Winslow is 6th best TE in the league: QB Josh Freeman will look for his young wide receivers first, but that shouldn’t stop fantasy owners from picking Winslow. He’s a consistent playmaker who produces on a weekly basis.

With stats and respect like that, youd think they were talking about a different team, not the Bucs who year in and year out have a great defense at the expense of the side that actually scores the points. Strange days indeed.
