Bucs may have hit the jackpot with Mike Williams

Say the names. Let them roll of your tongue slowly. Not too slowly, some of them may sting. Bert Emmanuel Keyshawn Johnson Alvin Harper. ouch…gotcha! Mike Williams. Much nicer huh? He wasn’t even the first WR drafted in this 2010 draft bonanza where the Bucs added much needed young talent, but Coaches will be willing to give Arrelious Benn a little time to mature thanks to the instant maturation of one number 19, Mike Williams. Never before has a Buccaneer Wide Reciever been drafted and instantly placed in the starting lineup after the first preseason game. Granted, its not hard to catch a ball when your defender falls down, but its what you do with the ball when you catch it. Look at Williams’ speed once he comes down with the ball.

It’s now starting to become obvious that Mike Williams is a steal in the 2010 draft, falling to the 4th round due to issues at Syracuse of a personal nature. Sound familiar? In 1995 Warren Sapp fell to the Bucs because of pre-draft drug allegations that scared off teams, one of them the Minnesota Vikings and their defensive coordinator Tony Dungy. But Mike Williams fell to the 4th round! Sapp only fell to 12th pick in the 1st. It’s too early to crown Williams as anything right now, after all, the most he has done so far is impress people during training camp and 3 preseason games. In just under two weeks, Mike Williams will line up for real opposite the Cleveland Browns defense, and then they will learn, just as we will, how much of a steal we got.
