Bucstop’s PostGame Thoughts after 23-20 OT win Bucs over Falcons

Offensive Coordinator Dirk Koetter deserves major credit with what he’s done with the Bucs offense, but if he is responsible for the late game 4th down play call, he has some “splainin” to do. He took responsibility for last week’s Pitch out to Charles Sims call on 4th down.  This week it was a poorly designed roll out by Jameis on 4th down that the Bucs just ran before they ICED themselves with the called Time Out.

Amazingly, the same idiots who called for Lovie’s job last week because  he played it concervative in the same situation, lambasted him this week when he did the opposite and went for it.

The Bucs continue a streak of coming through in a pinch for Lovie  Smith, or themselves, once they’ve embarrassed themselves the week before. After getting killed by Atlanta last year, they responded by beating the Steelers. After getting humilliated by Baltimore last year, they came back after the buy and took the Vikings to OT. This year the Tennessee game was the week before the Win over the Saints in New Orleans. Now after a horrible loss to Washington after being up by 24, Bucs take care of 6-1 Falcons In their home.

The Bucs are 3-4, and after starting last year 1-6 and the year before 0-7, that is clearly PROGRESS. So stop firing coaches, we’ve found one that has this team headed in the right direction.  Was it a perfect game? No they usually arn’t but there is progress being made.

The only defensive player the Lovie administration has drafted over the last two season, and hes not half bad is he? Kwon Alexander is an example of what Lovie and Licht can do when they get the defensive picks. The last two drafts the Bucs have been 13 of 14 pick.s used on the offense, which is why the offense is ahead of the game.

Lets give that offense credit once again for what it DID accomplish; Bucs converted 3 3rd down situations in Overtime on its way to scoring the winning points.

And lets not leave the defense hanging..thats two straight pressure plays to close out the game with plays by Gerald McCoy and Howard Jones
