Bud Selig: Pete Rose Matter is “Under Review”

OregonWomenSoccer

While the team he used to own was honoring Bob Uecker with his second statue at Miller Park, former Milwaukee Brewers owner and current Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig was answer questions in New York.

Selig, who will be retiring in January, met with a group of reporters and sports editors for the last time and discussed a wide range of topics.

“I’ve been doing this a long time,” Selig said. “This is the last time. Next January 25 is my last day.”

Among the numerous topics the 79-year-old commissioner touched on…instant replay, the recent incident involving Michael Pineda, steroids and, of course, Pete Rose.

Selig on Pete Rose & whether he might be pardoned before Bud retires: “The only thing I’d say about it is it’s a matter under review.”

So, is this for real?  Is the reinstatement of baseball’s hit king being considered or was Selig just deflecting the same thing he’s been asked since he took over for Fay Vincent in 1992?

Only time will tell.
