Buddy Hield has career night at home, leads Kings to final victory in Sacramento

What better way to have a career night than doing it one more time for the home crowd? Buddy Hield finished with 30 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field making him the Reno Dodge Power Performer.

Hield has now scored in double digits for six games in a row. Ever since coming from the New Orleans Pelicans in the DeMarcus Cousins trade, Hield has been averaging 15 points per game on 48 percent shooting from the field.

Here are some of his top plays from last night:

The in and out dribble from Hield on this play was absolutely incredible as he managed to fool his defender in a matter of seconds. Also, notice how he was able to protect the ball from Suns guard Tyler Ullis. The floater at the end is what made this play just more exquisite.

In this play, Hield knew he had a smaller defender on him, indicating that to Ty Lawson. Lawson made a great pass, but notice how Ullis made no attempt to deflect the ball or foul Hield. No help defense was offered either.

This was a complete mismatch but ended up being great defense. First of all, Dragan Bender did not fall for any of the moves that Hield gave him, because he stayed on his feet. With the first initial fake that Hield gave, he was sort of expecting to see if Bender would jump or fall for it.

When Hield began to drive, Bender somewhat expected that a step back would happen at some point, and he guessed right. Hield did a good job of getting the ball over the out stretched hands of Bender. Great offense over great defense.

When a 7-foot-1 240 lbs. center sets a screen for you, chances are you will get open. Bender initially thought that Hield would drive to the rim. Hield did a great job of selling the play.

“We just wanted to go out with a huge impression, something to look forward to next season,” said Hield, who had 15 points in the fourth quarter. “The energy tonight felt real good, like opening night again.

“I just can’t wait to work this summer and get better, get to know the guys better, the coaching staff, so we can all connect.”
