Buddy Hield named to 2016-17 NBA All-Rookie First Team

Buddy Hield gave many Kings fans hope in the final 25 games of 2016-17 season, as he posted 15.1 points on 48 percent shooting from the field. He also shot 42.8 percent from beyond the arc, which is something to build on for next season.

He was rewarded today by the NBA, as he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Malcolm Brogdon, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, and Willy Hernangomez joined him to round out the first team. The second team consisted of Yogi Ferrell, Marquese Chriss, Brandon Ingram, Jamal Murray, and Jaylen Brown.

Hield becomes the 16th player in Kings franchise history and the 11th during the Sacramento era to earn All-Rookie Team distinction, a list that includes teammate Willie Cauley-Stein (2015-16 All-Rookie Second Team).

Surprisingly, Skal Labissiere was left out of the second team. In my opinion he should have been there and it’s not even a debate. What do you guys think? Join the conversation!
