Even though they’re off to a 2-0 start in exhibition play, San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker and the French National team are still lacking some height in the paint as their two current big men are Charlotte’s Boris Diaw and New York’s Ronny Turiaf.
However, Parker, Spurs draftee Nando De Colo, and the rest of the French team will be getting some much-needed inside presence.
Chicago Bulls’ Joakim Noah has been cleared to join the French national team later this week after recovering from his injury.
With Noah being added to the team, France has a solid lineup to contend in the 2011 FIBA Eurobasket later this month. They’ll most likely be facing the likes of Dirk Nowitzki with Germany, and the Gasol brothers with Spain. So adding Noah is a major plus for the French.
Parker and France will return to action with an exhibition matchup against Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernandez, and the Gasol brothers with Spain. It’s unknown if Noah will see playing time on Monday.
