No suspension for Hungry, Hungry Alex Burrows. This isn’t a surprise. We didn’t think Burrows would get suspended in the Stanley Cup Finals.
But the reasoning was downright retarded.
“After reviewing the incident, including speaking with the on-ice officials, I can find no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron.”
What they mean is “It’s the Stanley Cup Finals and we don’t want to suspend anyone if we can help it. We want the Cup to be won on the ice.”
Which is understandable. That’s why we’re not surprised Burrows got a free pass. But we would’ve like the league to have come out and just said that. Oh and also — HE BIT A GUY! Is Burrows teething still?
In the regular season Burrows gets a game or two. Stanley Cup Finals? Not so much.
It’s a douchy move. How many scrums and face washes happen every game? You see one or two bites a year. Dumb. Grow a pair, Burrows.
