Dave Bush pitched a gem against the Reds on Tuesday night in an 8-1 Brewers’ win. Bush picked up his sixth win of the season and pitched seven innings and struck out seven. He only gave up only one run on three hits. The one run never should have happened either. JJ Hardy bobbled a double-play ball that would have ended the first inning. Bush then gave up the one run but worked out of trouble and picked up the quality start.
JJ Hardy broke out of his slump and picked up two hits on the night. Corey Hart, Mike Cameron and Jason Kendall all picked up two hits as well. Ryan Braun led the team with three hits and scored two runs. Prince Fielder hit his 26th. home run on the season and it now looks like he could make a serious run at a 40-homer season.
Brian Shouse and Eric Gagne each pitched a scoreless inning to finish off the night for the Crew. Jeff Suppan goes tomorrow as the Brewers look to win the series against the Reds before returning home to face the Nationals.
