It took lowly Kansas City to make Dave Bush look good.
Alright, that’s a bit harsh…but Dave Bush did look good Saturday night in the Crew’s 7-1 win over the “Monarchs”–the Royals wore unis that bore the name of their Negro League counterparts that, frankly, had a much more successful tenure in Kansas City than the Royals have had.
Bush’s line–1 ER in 7 IP, 1 BB, and 5 K’s.
On the offensive side, Corey Hart went 3-for-3 to raise his average to .321…no wonder he’s so happy with the new Milwaukee unis (the Brewers wore uniforms supposedly similar to the 1923 Milwaukee Bears’ unis–I say supposedly, as the photos I’ve seen had the Bears’ uniforms in navy and orange…well, at least their road uniforms).
Yovani “El Ganador” Gallardo goes tomorrow afternoon…yours truly has tix for the game…if he wins, my wife and I will name our first born Yovani (Yovana if it’s a girl)…oh, crap…my wife is waffling (actually, she just asked, “why are you lying to them? Oh, well, ixnay on the ovaniyay).
