Bush’s effort wasted by Torres

Dave Bush lasted 8 IP on Monday night against the Reds…and only allowed 2 ER’s…and handed Salomon Torres a 4-2 lead…and Torres blew the save…I mean, really blew it.
First Torres gave up singles to Jay Bruce and Wilkin Castillo…then walked Chris Dickerson to load the bases. But then Torres fanned Javier Valentin, so a double play would preserve the win.
Next, Corey Patterson hit a freaky infield single…right up-the-middle, careening off of Torres’ leg (good thing, too, because it would have likely ended up in center field and plating two runs)…so the bases are loaded, still one out, not 4-3.
But Jeff Keppinger smacks a 1-1 fastball over Ryan Braun’s head, plating both the tying and the eventual winning runs.
The Cubs were idle, meaning the Crew lost 1/2 game in the division race (and 1 full game in the loss column). The bullpen has been downright pathetic of late, and Yost needs to be trying Tim Dillard and Mark DiFelice at this point. But momentum is slipping away fast.
