Butch Jones interviewed at Colorado today. Word is coming out from all over the internet that he is going to accept the Colorado job. There was a report that the university was offering Jones 5 years, $13.5 million to become the Buffaloes coach. It's looking like the smoke is coming from a fire called the truth, instead of the smoke that was coming from windbags last week.
Just like I said last week, all we can do is wait and see what happens. Don't trust anything until it's official.
If you want my opinion, I believe he is going to Colorado. Facilities being upgraded has been talked about for Jones to go to Colorado. That's something that Whit Babcock talked at length about last week after UC was not invited to join the ACC. Money is a huge issue, like it or not. Colorado seems to have money to spend. Cincinnati does not right now. You really hate to lose a coach like this. But that's the reality of coaching. The on the field product isn't the only thing that matters.
I have no doubt in my mind that Cincinnati football will be in good hands if it comes to hiring a new coach. All we can do is show up and see what happens.
