Butler Sets 3-Point Record in Win; UTEP Only Wins in Hair Salon

Apparently someone within the Butler Bulldog basketball hierarchy is reading Detroit4lyfe. After I said it wouldn’t be a good idea to pick them, Butler goes out and lights up Texas-El Paso (UTEP) in their first round matchup, hitting an NCAA tournament record 13 three-pointers in the process. Butler was actually down by 6 at halftime before hitting 10 threes in the second half to easily pull away from the Miners, who were sporting some awesomely bad haircuts. Check out Derrick Caracter, yes this Derrick Caracter, and his fro-hawk below (click on the image for a larger version).

Several of the other Miner players were rocking a similar look. Another shot of Caracter below.

Maybe UTEP should have spent less time at the barber shop and more in the gym before taking the court today. And congrats to Butler, CBS and ESPN are already salivating over the possibility of a modern-day Hoosiers story if you make it to the Final Four.
