Back in college, I had some really bad ideas.
This wasn’t one of them… I don’t think.
It was a theory about rap and country basically being the same music. I know, doesn’t seem like it on the surface – and I’ll spare you all the details – but it all boils down to both art forms being very literal.
Rappers might want different things than country music artists. They might have different life experiences. Neither artist(s) hides their feelings behind innuendo or metaphors.

Country music takes a bit longer to get to Chicago, but I love this new-ish song from Chris Janson. And if you like rap, you’ll probably like it.

That’s it. That’s the work week. With Hurricane Joaquin pounding the east coast this weekend, I’d take the Cardinals/Braves game start times with a grain of salt. Right now there’s no less than a 70% chance of rain today, 60% on SAT and 90% on SUN. So we’ll see just how this is all going to shake out.
