With no trade back into the fourth round, the Bills merely had to wait for their compensatory pick, 139th overall and the final of the round. And with that pick the Bills selected Cardale Jones, QB The Ohio State University.
I went into this draft having Cardale as the only player I wanted the Bills to take with certainty. If they were going to grab a developmental pick, go for one that is a true moldable piece of clay and could be a home run if developed – and with the 6’5″ 253 pounder you have done that. Cardale also fits in the “winners” mold Whaley has mentioned, being a national champion and undefeated as a starter (shh!). Under the tutelage of Greg Roman and the offensive staff, Cardale can ease into the number three role this year and ascend as quickly as his talent and learning curve allow. Tyrod is still the unquestioned starter and at the worst will have a great young mind to mold in the QB room as he leads the Bills. Well done Bills.
Car-dale rocks! Car-dale rocks! Car-dale rocks!
