Deadline Hollywood reports that Cablevision and Time Warner will most likely settle on a deal before their contract expires on December 31 and avoid MSG Network being pulled from the television operator.
The snag in negotiations is that Time Warner is against Cablevision adding the FUSE Channel (music) to their MSG sports package…
“How will this play out? Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Vasily Karasyov says that, like most of these carriage fights, both sides will probably settle before they do too much damage to each other. MSG may decide that Fuse isn’t worth the fight: He figures that the programmer would lose $8M for each month Time Warner Cable doesn’t carry MSG, MSG+, and Fuse.”
…this should be welcome news to all Rangers fans who have Time Warner.
Time Warner is pledging not to take MSG off the air, but that the decision rests with MSG and MSG only.
