Johnny O has a great list of comments by Caldwell today
* The Colts played without starting DE Robert Mathis, DT Ed Johnson, MLB Gary Brackett, S Bob Sanders and CB Kelvin Hayden Saturday. Caldwell said that was no excuse for allowing 246 first-half yards. “You can lull yourself into a bit of a trap that way,” Caldwell said. “We try never to think that way. We expect whoever’s out there to play and play well and to play up to our standards, which are lofty and which we haven’t done consistently to this point. Regardless of who’s in the game, we anticipate and expect to play well.”
That’s fine and all coach, but come on. Take out half of any team’s starters and you’re going to see a drop off in production.
Meanwhile Hayden and Brock both practiced. That’s excellent news.
