Craig Custance at ESPN Insider feels that Ryan Callahan is a favorite for the Selke Trophy (Best Defensive Forward) along with Boston’s Patrice Bergeron, Detroit’s Pavel Datsyuk and St. Louis’ David Backes.
…so awesome to see Callahan get some recognition for this award which seems like it was created for him.
…Callahan has more hits and blocked shots than any of the other candidates. Unfortunately, his surprising -2 on the season could be his undoing.
Meanwhile, Scott Burnside at ESPN.com gives Carl Hagelin an Honorable Mention for the Calder Trophy.
