Callahan, Prospal Injury Updates

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Ryan Callahan will not need surgery for a non-displaced fracture on the top of his left hand and will be sidelined to six to eight weeks.

…nice to hear he doesn’t need surgery, but 6-8 weeks is a long time.

Gross adds that John Tortorella’s best guess right now is that Vinny Prospal (right knee) might be able to rejoin the lineup in mid-January.

…when reports last week said Prospal would be back after Christmas, I was thinking sometime before New Years. Guess not. Looks like someone is going to have to be called up. Unless the Rangers are thinking about playing Gilroy on the wing.
