Canada’s Olympic Broadcasting Consortium’s Schedule for Day 2 of the Winter Olympics

We’ll be posting these as they become available. CTV’s supposed to e-mail the releases, but I have to go to its media website to get these instead. As long as CTV is not being cooperative, I’ll just go to the website and copy & paste. So here is what you’ll see in Canada and along the US border towns on CTV, V, TSN, Rogers Sportsnet and RDS on Saturday.

Alpine Skiing
– The ‘Canadian Cowboys’ hit the slopes for the Men’s Downhill. Vancouver native Manuel Osborne-Paradis is a favourite to win Canada’s first gold on home soil after clenching his first World Cup victory in March 2009 (CTV, V)

OLYMPIC PRIME TIME/JEUX OLYMPIQUES AUX HEURES DE GRANDE ÉCOUTE
Freestyle Skiing: Moguls
– Jenn Heil looks to defend her Olympic Games title after winning gold at Turin 2006. Heil could become the first freestyle skier to successfully repeat as champion. Look for Heil’s teammate Kristi Richards, the 2007 world champion, to contend for a medal as well (CTV, Rogers Sportsnet, V, OMNI)

Short Track Speed Skating – Charles Hamelin sets his sights on gold in the Men’s 1500m, coming off his recent victory at the 2009 World Championships in Austria (CTV, TSN, V, RDS, OMNI)

Hockey
– The Canadian women’s hockey team plays its first game, taking on Slovakia. Team captain Hayley Wickenheiser sets out to lead her team to a third straight Olympic Games gold medal (CTV, Rogers Sportsnet, V, APTN)

DAY 2 – ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
OLYMPIC MORNING – Former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien is in-studio, while Nikki Yanofsky and Stephan Moccio perform the hit song “I Believe.” Two-time Olympic Games silver medallist Elvis Stojko joins Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank at Robson Square for a skating lesson

LE RÉVEIL OLYMPIQUE – An Olympic Games gold medallist in moguls at Lillehammer 1994, Jean-Luc Brassard appears in-studio. Stephan Moccio, composer of I Believe/J’imagine, chats with host Claude Mailhot

ETALK and FASHIONTELEVISION – Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim interview some of the A-list performers from the Opening Ceremony. Tanya gets a private tour of the Molson Canadian Hockey House with Barenaked Ladies drummer Tyler Stewart. Lainey serves up details from the Opening Ceremony after-parties and gossip from around the Games

MOD LIVE @ THE BASE – The All American Rejects talk about preparing for their Whistler Victory concert. Later that night, the cast of PEAK SEASON drop by. And there’s a hot tub, so you never know what’s going to go down!
