CANADIAN CONTENT: The Steve Nash Productions

I guess this is what you do when you’re not in the playoffs, but our Canadian homeboy, Steve Nash continues with his video production career as he producedthis latest video  (under “Finger Licking Productions”, lol)  entitled “SuperBADge” starring teammates, Shaquille O’Neal and Alando Tucker.  Most of you hoop heads have already seen it but if not,  here it is:

But for some Nash fans, some might not know how involved he is in filmmaking.  He has started his own film production company with his cousin and according to AZcentral.com:

“If it were a look at his playmaking for the Suns, Nash would be reticent in self-reflection. But Nash glows about his filmmaking, the art that will fill his creative void when he retires from basketball.”

This was the first time I saw this video titled  “The Sixty Million Dollar Man” (a spoof of the Six Million Dollar Man) but it may the most creative commercial I have seen from Nash.  It was a commercial used to promote his 100% recycled sneaker also starring Amare Stoudemire and Raja Bell.   From NBA.com, Nash talks about his thoughts on his creative thoughts in promoting ecvironmental awareness:

“I have such a passion for watching films and now, that passion is being transferred into filmmaking. After starting my own production company, Meathawk, this seemed like the perfect time and place for me to make a short film to increase environmental awareness through the promotion of the Trash Talk,” said Nash.

Here is the behind the scenes look at the making of the video.

The popular Nike viral video “Training Day” commercial was both written and produced by Steve Nash, that was filmed in NY on a $30,000 budget:

It would be nice to see Mr. Nash in the playoffs this season but I guess this is the next best thing.
