First of all, if you have not yet seen the Memorial Day video from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showing you the 2010 draft pics, here it is; dont miss it! These guys look every bit the future sports heroes they should turn out to be one day, on Sundays, or hopefully Sunday and Monday nights in the teens! No they probably WONT make an immediate impact yet, at least not most of them, but expect one or two of them to be heard from in 2010, and then, like Derrick Brooks and Warren Sapp, make a name for themselves in their 3rd year! Then Here is the Buccaneer insider for June 1st. Its about Tim Crowder, possible starting DE for this year, and Reggie Brown, WR. Crowder will have his hands full with Stylez G White and Kyle Moore, but the competition will be enjoyable for us fans this month as OTAs swing into full action at One Buc Place during the month of June. Rick Stroud talks with Cadillac Williams about his first full offseason NOT rehabbing in many years. Suprisingly, there are those out there that still think Cadillac Williams only had three good games in his career, the first three, and after that nothing. These people have joined the club of the many who simply have confused the timeline, by remembering the injury time being longer than what it was. Truth is Cadillac finished that season with almost 1200 yards, so he couldn’t have done that with just 4 games, especially when he was out as we remember for about 4 more! It was the Tampa Bay at Atlanta game that sprung him back in that 2005 season. His first run was for 30 yards, and he finished with 116 on the day.
Here is the video of that first run….
Then he ran for 84 against a great Bears defense, 96 at New Orleans, 112 in the first win at Carolina in a long time, 150 in the rematch vs Atlanta and 81 more in the rematch vs the Saints. He was held to 51 yards by the Playoff Redskins defense in that playoff game. So we can hardly say Cadillac didn’t do anything since those first 3 games. Then in 2006, the guy finishes with 800 yards despite missing the last two games of the year, and, just to refresh the memory, in 2006, we had one of the worst offenses ever with Bruce Gradkowsk as quarterback. Last year we know how horrible the offense was, yet Cadillac responded with 821 more yards. Stroud also discusses Josh Johnson’s role as the #2 QB. Raheem made the comment last year that Johnson would be Freeman’s career No.2, and that is what he is. He is capable of starting when need be, so why mess with that. He has a QB coach to go to for experience and tutelage, a veteran #2 is not necessary. Few have reported on the Buccaneers as long as Roy Cummings; so his report on Stylez G White should be taken with all due respect. With the upcoming pressure created by McCoy/Price/Miller, the defensive ends should flourish. Cummings also says Kyle Moore is ‘THE GUY” on the left side of the D-Line! Ditto. Earnest Graham fans have their wish, he is pencilled in as the starter; As Fullback on the Bucs roster. Read Charlie Campbell’s Pewter Report article available to the general pop. Earnest Graham fans still knock Jon Gruden for not seeing his potential but what about Tampa Bay fans? Did you remember anyone in the stands shouting “Put Graham in”? Or any blogs? No, I dont either. He had great preseasons- so did Mazio Royster. But Graham got his shot and made the most of it, and now Graham will have more opportunities like I will have ” I was calling for Graham to get the ball” emails! Chris Bruno writes for Bucpower.com about the rest of the NFC South’s 2010 draft. Without a doubt, the NFC South did well for itself too..Good luck with that hair cut Chris. Joe says Earnest Graham believes he can be a weapon in passing plays, and Joe agrees.
