Bucs QB Josh Freeman says he has been too aggressive, leading to early season woes
The film is showing Freeman throwing off his back foot, and he’s less agressive taking off like he used to. Freeman says the running lanes simply arn’t there, and that may be true. But that should mean an underneath guy is open for a quick dumpoff and 7 yards. Take it. Peyton Manning beat up in 2007 by throwing nothing but 7 yard dumpoffs. It was agonizing, and Monte Kiffin would not adjust his defensive game plan. We also know when the Bucs can run the ball, the play action fake works (better). That will help.
HC Raheem Morris expects running back LeGarrette Blount back for next Bucs Game
I see no reason to assume otherwise, Blount didnt walk with a limp, and his injury was a 2-4 week and it will be 4 plus weeks. We will need Blount if were to make any kind of run at a winning record and playoffs.
My Washington Post article about Teams still relying on the Running game despite early aerial assault.

No getting away from #5’s Giveaways
No, there is not. Last year the Bucs were one of the better teams at the Give away/Take away ratio. This year not so much, and the biggest difference is dropped interceptions. Last year, the opposing team was dropping a fair amount of Freemans passes that would have been picked off last year. This year, its the BUCS that are dropping potential interceptions, and thats hurting the ratio. Bucs have made it clear they want to be on the positive side of that number.
Morris Excited about Bucs getting healty for Bucs Playoff push
Make no mistake about it, the Bucs are going to be in a playoff race, again, for the second year in a row. This time no one is running away with the division, the Bucs have a shot at the NFC South, especially if the key games are won. So far they have been, at least for a division championship. The Bucs have beaten the Falcons and Saints at home. But they’ve lost to Detroit and Chicago who they are fighting for wild card spots with ever since Green Bay decided to go on a tear and rip up the NFC North.
Fans dont seem to realize, this is NOT a bad Bucs team, its capable of winning on ANY Sunday, but also capable of losing on any one too. It seems as if they play great when they’re told they have no chance but play terrible when told they have an advantage. The next three games are critical, playing New Orleans on the road, followed by Offensive powerhouses Houston Texans at home and Green Bay in Wisconsin. The Bucs MUST win one of those three games, which would put them at 5-5 with 6 games left, all of which are winnable against above average but not great teams. More on this in an article later today.
Penalties, Mental errors dooming Bucs
The Bucs MUST learn to control their emotions during the beginning of the day they play, first half action is killing them with penalties, especially on offense, that backs them up. It puts the offense in 2nd or 3rd and long situations they cant get out of. IF you see the Bucs playing penalty free football and running the ball well, they are almost sure to win.
