Captain’s Log- Tampa Bay Buccaneers News for August 3rd

Adrian ClaybornMeet new Defensive End Adrian Clayborn– a video feature on Buccaneers.com. Scott Smith does an excellent job presenting the franchise.

NOTE: Nothing to link to, But Steve Duemig on 620WDAE was RAVING about LE Da’Quan Bowers, and his ability to penetrate quickly. Duemig has, for years on end, preached that he will not advize how any player is doing until they take on someone in another uniform. This is the first time I’ve EVER heard him say something like this. I get the feeling Bowers is yet another steal for Dominik, and he may have the kind of season Mike Williams had last year. Only Greg Spires has ever really had significant production from the Left Defensive end position.

QB Josh Freeman is encouraged by Camp’s first week.

St. Pete Times Joe Smith writes a refreshing piece on how Roy Miller, not Bowers, or Clayborn, is the key to Bucs defense. Cant help but agree- to some extent.

After getting completely taken by surprise last year, Tampa Bay submits its formal bid for SuperBowl in 2015. Were expected to win it. That means “receive the bid”, although I think we may win it too!

It could be a big year for Kellen Winslow Jr., as for the first time he hasnt had knee surgery in the off-season. Joe Henderson says K2 wont let pain from 7 operations bring him down.

Last week we interviewed Tyrone McKenzie, looks like we talked to the newest Mike Linebacker, or Middle. Mark Cook of Pewter Report thinks so at least.
