The Cardinals announced today that they have hired former MLB pitcher Randy Flores as their Scouting Director.

The St. Louis Cardinals and their Sr. Vice President/General Manager John Mozeliak announced today the team’s decision to hire former Cardinals pitcher and 2006 World Series Champion Randy Flores as its Director of Scouting, beginning Tuesday, September 1.
Flores, 40, holds a master’s degree in Postsecondary Administration/Sports Administration from the University of Southern California and has been involved in coaching, scouting, private business and broadcasting since his playing career ended.
Flores, a left-handed pitcher, spent eight seasons in the majors with Texas (2002), Colorado (2002, 2009-10), St. Louis (2004-08) and Minnesota (2010) and was a member of the Cardinals World Championship team in 2006.
Mozeliak plans to introduce Flores to the media next Tuesday, Sept. 1, prior to the Cardinals game with the Washington Nationals.
