Blues fans anticipating Carl Gunnarsson’s debut with his new team won’t have to wait much longer. The defenseman has been slowly rehabbing his hip following a surgical procedure at the end of last season and has finally been cleared to play.

Gunnarsson will rejoin the #stlblues in Palm Desert tonight and practice tomorrow. When he plays in a game is now up to him and the club.

Gunnarsson may be eased into the lineup, but its safe to say his debut will be in the very near future. The Blues have several options they could rest (Ian Cole, Jordan Leopold) in order to squeeze Gunnarsson in the lineup. His debut may not come on Thursday against the LA Kings, but a reasonable guess says that he will be used in one of the back-to-back games the Blues have this weekend.
