Carl Gunnarsson is still recovering from hip surgery he had at the end of last season and as a result won’t be ready to go for the season opener.
Hitch said Gunnarsson will not be ready to start regular season. Until he comes out of red jersey, he's a non-factor. #stlblues

Hitch said Lindbohm has basically filled Gunnarsson's role so he remains in the mix. #stlblues

It’s disappointing Gunnarsson is still recovering from a procedure he had several months ago, but it’s nice to see the Blues feel they have other options and don’t have to rush Gunnarsson back in too quickly. It sounds like his recovering is progressing, but there’s no planned date on when he might be able to return.
Fans are probably going to feel a little frustrated that they won’t be able to see the return on the Roman Polak trade when the season starts, but Gunnarsson should be a nice addition to the team once he’s healthy.
