Carl Landry to miss 4-5 months after surgery

According to the Sacramento Kings, power forward Carl Landry underwent successful surgery today to repair ligament damage in his right wrist.  The surgery was completed by Dr. Michelle Carlson at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Landry, 31, experienced wrist soreness for much of the 2014-15 NBA season.  He missed five games in January due to the ailment, but surgery wasn’t warranted at the time.  According to the team, Landry continued to experience discomfort during the offseason, and an another MRI was ordered on the wrist this week which revealed the injury.

The eight-year vet is expected to miss four to five months and will begin rehabilitation immediately.

Landry signed a four-year, $26 million deal in June 2013, but has missed 76 of a possible 164 games due to a variety of ailments.  In his two seasons since returning to Sacramento, Landry has undergone surgery on his hip flexor, a knee and now his wrist.

The former Purdue star averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17 minutes per game this season for the Kings.  He played in 70 games, including 15 starts.
