The Sacramento Kings announced this afternoon that veteran forward Carl Landry underwent successful surgery on his right knee. He is expected to make a full recovery for the 2014-15 season.
The 30-year old Landry made his season debut on Jan. 19 after missing the Kings’ first 38 games with a torn hip flexor. On March 8, the Kings were forced to shut Landry down for the remainder of the season when he sustained a medial meniscus tear in his right knee.
Landry became the first free agent acquisition of the Vivek Ranadivé/Pete D’Alessandro era when he signed a four-year, $26 million deal last summer. He finishes the year averaging a disappointing 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in just 18 total games.
According to the team’s official press release, his surgery was performed by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
