Editor's Note: Soderberg says he wants to join the Bruins after the SEL playoffs. Full story here.
You remember Carl Soderberg right? He's the guy who the Bruins received on July of 2007 for Bruins next blazing goaltender Hannu Toivonen. Soderberg has been playing in the Swedish Elite League for Malmo and more recently Linkoping. Apparently, though, Soderberg could be headed for the Bruins.
Carl Soderberg Boston – now?
Yes, many sources say that Boston makes a serious attempt to recruit the elite series målkung to NHL – immediately. The salary of Soderberg said to be $ 1.5 million for a full NHL season. But the main characters gives a different picture of Sportbladets news and information.
So apparently there are SEL sources saying that the Bruins are trying to get Soderberg to come to the NHL and play for them. Understandable since the kid has some good stats for Linkoping. Soderberg has stated that he hasn't heard anything from Boston and his agent backs his statement saying that he has not heard from the Bruins.
Linkoping director Mike Helber stated in the article that he knows Boston is interested in Soderberg, but there are rules in place where an NHL team cannot sign an SEL player during the middle of the season.
