Here is a Bucs video of the car wreck that was @Carolina; it featured some good moments by some players who deserve to say they play in the NFL. Slow Motion shows some Bucs defenders quitting on the play, waiting for someone else to do the work, or the bad angles that Sean Jones has been taking all season long.

It was a Friday night deep into January, about 3 weeks after the football season ended. Thoughts went back to 7 weeks before, the Bucs were at one point 9-3 and tied for first place in the NFC South with Carolina, whom they had already beaten. They went to Charlotte to play the Panthers on Monday Night Football for first place, and a shot at the 2nd seed and a home game for the playoffs. The Bucs were playing for a Bye, but instead were told “Bye Bye”. Tampa Bay would not win again until Josh Freeman’s first game 10 months and 12 games later. Carolina ran for over 300 yards on the Bucs defense, but because of a technicality, the official records show 299. Two days ago, the Panthers ran for 270 yards on the Bucs defense. Tampa Bay it would seem, has come full circle.
On that Friday late afternoon, I was listening to Steve Duemig on WDAE620, he responded to a caller that he had heard mumblings about Jon Grudens job not being safe, but he declined to comment further because he said the talk is so spradic, its not worth debating at this time. Less than 2 hours later, Duemig was talking about something when the news was reported to him on the air. Normally WDAE goes to FOX coverage at 7pm, instead the station called in its other hosts to stay on the air and report what was happening.
Pewter Report staff were on their way home, out to dinner, and had to suddenly write write write. Thats probably how it will happen again. Raheem Morris cannot possibly survive this 9 game losing streak, soon to be 10, with 4 if not 5 blowouts in a row. Gruden was fired for losing 4 in a row, and finishing 9-7; for two consecutive seasons. Tony Dungy was fired for going 9-7, and three straight playoff seasons. Could you picture the bucs talking playoffs right now? I can hear Jim Mora “Playoffs? Playoffs???. Id be happy if we can just win a game”. Oh so true Mr. Mora. Prophetic.
I dont fault Raheem Morris for all of this, but its on his watch, and its too much for anyone to escape blame. Anyone that is except Mark Dominik; I give the Dom a pass because I believe he is a YES man for the Glazers, he simply followed orders.
Those orders need to change in March, when Free Agency starts. the Bucs need to show the community they are serious about their team, and pick up one or two TOP TIER free agents March 1st or whenever the Free Agency period begins. Only then will Bucs fans finally be happy. Until then we will listen to the radio on Friday Nights for the coming month, not hoping for the news, at least I would hope not. There is no reason to gloat over another man losing his job. But just to listen for the news, and for the offseason that will bring change to the losing that is now the norm at One Bucs Place.
