The Red Sox lost Game One because of a mistake pitch by Lester to Torii Hunter and lack of hitting by the offense. End of story. Many in Red Sox Nation showed their frustration by editing C.B. Bucknor’s Wikipedia page and crying foul all morning but even if the two blown calls went Boston’s way the team still would have lost. Place the blame where it belongs; with the offense. Bucknor may be a bad umpire but he didn’t have an 0-fer like Ells, V-Mart, Youk, Big Papi, and Lowell did last night.
Bucknor will be behind the plate tonight where he is in a position to do much more damage. Hopefully the offense can put up enough runs so that it will not matter.
