Talk about bad timing! As the Toronto Raptors fight stay ahead of the Chicago Bulls for the 8th and final playoff spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, the Raptors have to scramble now and find a way to stay above water and win games without their most valuable player.
In case you didn’t see the moment last night vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers when the entire Raptors Nation felt a sinking feeling in their stomachs, Huffington Post has posted an additional video and pictures here.
The timetable on Chris’ return is still not known at this point, but he will not be in the lineup tonight at the ACC as the Raptors host the visiting Boston Celtics in a near must win game.
It’s tough to see injuries in sports, but ESPECIALLY at this juncture of the season with so much on the line. The Andrew Boguy injury from this past weekend was also a tough one to watch regardless of your level of fandom. At least the Raptors at this point have a chance of Chris returning before the end of the regular season (since no official timetable has been given). The Milwaukee Bucks on the other hand are consideribly worse off heading into the playoffs having now lost their best player (in my opinion) since Bogut’s injuries have officially forced the abrupt end to an incredible season for the Aussie.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris, along with the entire Raptors Nation, and hope he makes a speedy and full recovery.
