People enjoy watching the New England Patriots get beat. Considering that the Patriots had a down year and were out of Sundays’ game against the Baltimore Ravens right from the opening kickoff, people still watched. Ratings for the AFC Wild Card playoff game on CBS were up 14% from last year’s Baltimore-Miami game.
RATING RISES 14% FOR “THE NFL ON CBS” AFC WILD CARD GAMETHE NFL ON CBS’s broadcast of the AFC Wild Card game featuring the Baltimore Ravens defeating the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 10 (1:00-4:15 PM, ET) scored an average overnight household rating/share of 19.4/38, up +14% from an overnight rating/share of 17.0/35 for last year’s AFC Wild Card game on CBS between Baltimore and Miami (1:00-4:00 PM, ET).The Baltimore-New England game rating/share peaked with a 22.6/42 (3:30-4:00 PM, ET).The game is CBS’s highest-rated AFC Wild Card game in the metered markets since 2006 when Pittsburgh at Cincinnati earned a rating/share of 19.9/34 (4:30-7:45 PM, ET)).
I’d like to see what the local ratings were in Boston and Baltimore. Perhaps that will come out later this week.
