CC and The Prince

The Brewers followed up a rout last night with a close game today but the result remained the same: a Brewers victory. CC Sabathia pitched another gem and picked up the victory in a 4-2 Brewers win. Sabathia went 8 1/3 innings giving up only two runs on six hits. He struck out nine while only walking one in picking up his fifth victory with the Brewers and his 11th for the season.
Prince Fielder powered the offense by hitting two home runs, his 24th and 25th of the season. Fielder’s solo shot in the seventh tied the game at one. Jason Kendall later doubled to score Corey Hart to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead. Fielder hit a two-run shot in the eighth to make it a 4-1 game. The Braves added a run in the ninth to make it 4-2 but Salomon Torres came on to get the final two outs to pick up his 21st save of the season.
The Brewers have one another road series and go for the sweep tomorrow. Ben Sheets will take the mound and try and bounce back from the beating the Cubs gave him Tuesday night. The Cubs also won on Saturday so the Crew still sits four games back of the baby bears.
