The Celtics and Heat have begun their first round playoff series at the Garden. The two franchises have never played a playoff series against each other but they did have a playoff-like game on January 6th at Miami. That was the game when Paul Pierce lobbed a perfect alley-oop to Rajon Rondo with just six tenths of a second left on the clock. The play forced overtime and eventually the Celtics prevailed.
Let's take a dip into the rejuvenating Hot Tub Time Machine and set the year for 1993. Reggie Lewis, Dee Brown, Robert Parish and Xavier McDaniel were battling the likes of Glen Rice, Steve Smith, Rony Seikaly, Brian Shaw and Harold Miner. This was one of Reggie's final games from his tragically shortened career, but you can see how good he was. Dee Brown comes up with some clutch plays as well as does McDaniel with a key tip-in. One of the better highlights of this clip is listening to Magic Johnson's hysterical attempt at color commentary. Even though this was not a playoff game, it certainly had that feel. Enjoy your journey but make sure you return in time for Game 2 Tuesday night.
