After a shocking 20 point win over the Wizards, the emerging Celtics are now on the hot streak as they face the uprising Milwaukee Bucks. Celtics F Jared Sullinger had himself a near career night when he scored 21 points (3/4 from 3 point range) and grabbed 8 rebounds. Sullinger carried the Celtics along with shooting sensation Isaiah Thomas, who scored 16 points in the Wizards game. The Celtics have a tough task in locking down the Bucks, who have good size on the perimeter and down low. After losing three straight games from the start of the season, the Bucks have won the last 4 straight and should continue to rise but the Celtics will give them problems.
Former Celtic Jerryd Bayless had a phenomenal night against the last game they had which was against Brooklyn. Bayless dropped 19 points to go along with 10 assists and a lofty dunk which is rare to see from Bayless who always lobs the throws. F Kris Middleton is one of those guys that you don’t know how to defend. He can get on the block, he is a solid perimeter shooter and he is clutch in those spotlight moments. Middleton scored 14 to go along with 9 rebounds in the helping effort against the Nets. Then we have the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo, a 6’11 all around superstar in the making. At points, Coach Jason Kidd will have Antetokounmpo play the 1 (point guard) and he thrives in that role. A rare specimen of a human that can impact the game. Giannis scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Finally we have the power forward/center that was a bit of a surprise to land in the testy waters of free agency. Greg Monroe was the underrated star that once played alongside C Andre Drummond, who got most of the credit in Detroit, but the people forgot about Monroe. Monroe has averaged 18 points a game to go along with 8 boards a game. Recently he scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a solid effort against Brooklyn.
This game should come down to the wire instead of the C’s Wizards game but Monroe and company won’t let perimeter shooting get by in their home court. Rebounds will be another key factor as on of the best centers in the NBA (Monroe) is all over offensive rebounding and and-1’s.
***Prediction***
Celtics 103
Bucks 96
