Celtics/Pistons Game Preview

Tayshaun

Celtics (41-24) vs. Pistons (23-43)

Game time: 8pm, TD Garden. TV – ESPN, CSN. Radio – WEEI-AM (850)

Team Leaders

Scoring
Bos: Pierce – 17.6                  Pistons: Richard Hamilton – 18.7

Rebounding
Bos: Perkins – 7.7                  Pistons: Ben Wallace – 9.1

Assists
Bos: Rondo – 9.8                    Pistons: Rodney Stuckey – 5.0

Who'll go off:   Rajon Rondo. He's averaging 18.0 points and 9.0 assists against Detroit this season. Without Stuckey, Will Bynum will start at point. According to ESPN's John Hollinger – "Defensively, Bynum is a liability. He's too hyper pressuring the ball and commits bad fouls on the perimeter." Go get 'em Rajon.

Who needs to be stopped: Tough to say. The Pistons are already one of the worst offensive teams in the league and they could be w/o 2/5 of their starting lineup. Let's go with Tayshaun Prince. He's averaging 17 ppg, 4 rpg and 4 apg over his last 5.

The C's will lose if…  Guess
who is the top offensive rebounding team in the league? Yup, the
Pistons. The Celtics will need to bust
their butts keeping Ben Wallace, Jonas Jerebko and Jason Maxiell off
the boards.
(Taken verbatim from last Pistons game preview because it still applies)

Miscellany:  Rodney Stuckey (dizziness) is doubtful. Ben Wallace (knee) is questionable. The Celtics have split the season series with Detroit. The Pistons have lost eight of 10.

Prediction:  Celtics 109 – Detroit 88
