If you haven’t seen already, former Central Michigan University head coach Butch Jones is moving on up and heading to Cincinnati to replace Brian Kelly as the Bearcats head football coach. This will be the second time Jones has rode Kelly’s coattails and replaced him on the job. While holding down the fort for Kelly at Central, Jones compiled a 26-13 record however, he failed to win a bowl game in three attempts.
I have no doubts that in three years Jones will replace Kelly in South Bend and assume America’s best coaching job the death trap of a job formerly known as Notre Dame head football coach. As for Central’s head coaching search, I suggest they stick with what works and continue suckling off Brian Kelly’s teats. Grand Valley State Universty head coach, Chuck Martin, has compiled a 61-5 record and tacked on a few National Titles while serving as Brian Kelly’s replacement. Central needs to sign him up! Quick, before Cinicinnati gets wind of him.
