Every mens home basketball game is full of suspense for the fans in attendance. There is one thing on their mind: will Penn State score enough for a free Big Mac? The magic number of points needed is 70, but on Saturday, Penn State fell short of the goal when they defeated Nebraska 67-51.
Coach Chambers announced on twitter today that the first 200 students to go to McDonalds tomorrow, Wednesday, with a Nittany Nation shirt on or with their ticket from Saturday’s game will recieve a free Big Mac.
Penn State had the opportunity to score 70, as Glover stood at the three point arc dribbling as the last 10 second ran off the clock. Judging by the looks exchanged between Glover and Chambers, it was clear that Glover wanted to please the 13,000 people chanting “Big Mac” and shoot the three. To the disappointment of the crowd, Chambers told him to not shoot and instead hold onto the ball.
“I definitely wanted them to get the Big Macs,” Chambers said laughing after the game. “I just couldn’t do that to Nebraska.”
Penn State continued trend of playing well at home as their victory tied their conference record with Nebraska at 3-10 for the season. Tim Frazier was 1 assist away from a triple double as he finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.
The Nittany Lions will face Iowa on Thursday at 8pm in the Bryce Jordan Center. Along with an opportunity for a free Big Mac, fans that attend will also be able to buy hot dogs at the game for $1 with Penn State’s Dollar Dog Night promotion.
