As for how to remedy the situation if Johnson isn’t the answer, it’s very hard to imagine anyone being on the open market that is any better than what the Colts already have. Players are on the market for a reason. Players are cut for a reason. The idea of upgrading the current crop of linemen with other teams’ castoffs isn’t realistic. I’m giving Johnson a bit more time. And if he’s still struggling, position coach Howard Mudd probably will address the situation by adjusting his blocking approach, maybe leaving a tight end next to Johnson to help in pass-blocking situations.
