In news that has rocked the North Texas boxing scene to its very core undefeated prospect Charles “The Future” Hatley (14-0, 11 KOs) and his brother Greg “The Technician” Hatley Jr. (3-1, 3 KOs) were arrested this past weekend in St. Francis County, Arkansas for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

St. Francis County Deputies Eugene Watlington and Heath Reynolds had pulled over the brothers on Interstate 40 with the reported intent to cite them for a traffic violation Friday morning.  The deputies reported to have smelled a heavy odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and upon conducting a search of the vehicle discovered 22.8 pounds of marijuana hidden in a heavy bag.  The estimated street value of the seizer is around $200,000.

A spokesperson for the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department has stated that, “[the Hatley brothers] told the deputy at the scene that they were coming from Mississippi, where they tried to sell the pot. They were not successful in selling it, so they were heading back to Texas.”

Both Charles and Greg Jr. have been released on $25,000 bond.
