It probably could go without saying that undefeated Oak Cliff prospect Charles “The Future” Hatley is a beast in the ring.  In fact, if you don’t know that fact then obviously you haven’t been reading this site.  The pride of Dallas has been one of the most active fighters here in North Texas and perhaps most impressive is the fact that unlike a lot of our local talent, Hatley fights in the DFW.  Credit for that must be extended to Black Glove Promotions who have done a commendable job in giving North Texas a constant professional boxing promotion.

While some have labeled Hatley a big fish in a small pond, the fact of the matter is that Hatley’s reputation is well known throughout the professional boxing scene.  It’s little doubt that there are a number of interested big time promoters who would love to have a fighter of Hatley’s caliber in their stable.  So far, Hatley and Co. have chose to play their cards close to their chest, much to the delight of local fight fanatics who get the opportunity to see Hatley fight in front of his hometown on a pretty regular basis.  But Hatley is inevitably destined for the bright lights of major fights and it’s clear that there is interest from the power brokers in the sport to see Hatley perform on a national level.  Good thing for them that day seems to be fast approaching.

In breaking news today, Hatley has been tabbed to fight on the ESPN televised boxing card taking place on February 4 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.  The fight card, put on by Marines Promotions, is quickly becoming the must-see boxing event of 2011 here in North Texas.  In addition to a main event that features the highly anticipated rematch between Brian Vera and Andy Lee, the Feb. 4 card will feature a plethora of local talent.  Fighters such as Rafael Casias, Luis Yanez, Ray Ximinez Jr., and now Hatley will all appear on the card given local fight fans no reason not to turn up and witness what is sure to be some intense action.
