The Rock On Foundation, founded by Luke & Matt Bonner, is holding their annual “Nightcap” event. From the official press release:
On Saturday, March 1st Boston will invite leaders from across the sports, technology, media, and entertainment industries to celebrate Boston and the unique influences that make it a world-class city: sports, academics, music, comedy, art, philanthropy and entrepreneurship. This unique event, The Nightcap, is an annual and unofficial MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference after-party to benefit the Rock On Foundation– a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded by former UMass basketball player, Luke Bonner, and his brother Matt of the San Antonio Spurs.
Hosted by veteran music destination Church of Boston, The Nightcap will kick off with a Rajon Rondo-inspired Connect Four tournament (sign-up is live) sponsored by Somerville-based Train Gum. The Tournament will include Local Celebrity Competitors like James DiSabatino, proprietor of Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and former contestant on Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race. After the Tournament will be performances from comedians Hari Kondabolu (“a comic from Queens currently living in Brooklyn” who has appeared on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver’s New York Standup Show, WTF with Marc Maron, and You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes- just to name a few!!), Gregg Gethard and Aaron Hertzog of the Holding Court Podcast, and Shaun Bedgood. Next there will be music by DJ Vid Kidand “party attack”/DJ/ hip hop band Big Digits
You can check out the event’s Facebook page for more details, Ticketfly for tix or contact Ananth Pandian, a good friend of our’s here at Red’s. Sounds like it should be a great night. I wonder if Rondo will pop-in for the Connect Four tourney….
